The Role
Reporting to the Midwest Regional Manager, you will join a team of about eight Credit Buyers who are part of the larger Credit & Funding group. The group supports Honda and Acura dealers throughout the Midwest, and you will work with dealers within an assigned territory. Quick question for you - click hereYou will assume responsibility for approving or denying credit applications, following purchase policy guidelines. This will include underwriting business, evaluating credit and making sound decisions. Most of your work will be conducted over the phone and via email, and you'll spend the majority of your day at your computer.
You'll play a critical role in helping AHFC establish and maintain good relationships with our dealers and our customers. This role will put you in regular contact with key dealership personnel, such as Business Managers and others.
Major areas of responsibility will include:
- Making credit decisions
- Maintaining dealer relations and making timely call-backs
- Assisting in management and development of the Discounting Department

Keys to Success
To excel in this role you should be proactive about learning and hitting your stride quickly. Once up to speed, you should be a "lifelong learner" and remain open to coaching and keeping up with changes. While there will be some gray areas, for the most part you will follow established guidelines for evaluating credit applications. Attention to detail will be essential.It's important enough that it bears repeating: you'll need a strong service mindset and a knack for building relationships. There will be times when you have to deny a credit application, and having existing relationships will make those conversations easier. In addition, our best Credit Buyers have:
